This course takes a numerical approach to understanding contemporary issues and explores ways to apply mathematics in everyday life. Students will evaluate and interpret quantitative data, and use the results to form opinions and make decisions. Topics may include areas such as digital music, art and entertainment, student loans, education, life expectancy, global warming, lotteries, statistics in the media, political elections, and sports.
